International mentoring at BORG Automotive – case study

BORG Automotive, a European leader in the automotive industry, set itself an ambitious challenge: to create the company’s first-ever mentoring program. The goal was not only to develop the competence of employees, but also to strengthen cooperation between branches in different countries. Thanks to the Mentiway platform, BORG Automotive efficiently launched and implemented two editions of the international mentoring program. As a result, hundreds of hours of effective work were realized, and participants from six countries were involved in the processes.

From need to action: international mentoring.

BORG previously lacked structured mentoring. There was a clear need for a space to share knowledge and experience in a multicultural environment. This is how the idea for international mentoring was born – a program where mentors and mentees from different countries could meet and learn from each other..

BORG Automotive: mentoring program in numbers.

  • 2 editions of the mentoring program
  • 6 countries: Poland, Denmark, Spain, Germany, Belgium, United Kingdom
  • Areas developed: strategic thinking, project management, people development, negotiation, mental toughness, time management
  • Average session rating: 4.7/5
  • 92% of participants found participation in the program valuable for professional development
  • 88% indicated improvements in the areas of project and time management
  • 84% confirmed the development of leadership and strategic competencies

International mentoring at BORG is part of a broader trend of responsible business, in which companies care about the development and wellbeing of employees, thereby building their market advantage. A program designed in this way supports not only the development of individual competencies, but also the building of a culture of responsible business.

How was the implementation?

The process began with training for mentors and mentees, which was conducted by the Mentiway team. The app then acted as a management center: supporting onboarding, pair matching, scheduling meetings and collecting feedback.

Thanks to the intuitive interface, participants quickly found their way through the process, and HR was able to monitor progress and results. 87% of participants admitted that the app made it easier for them to participate in the program, and the HR department saved more than half the time it would normally have had to spend organizing the program.

This approach fits perfectly with our Human first, AI boosted philosophy – technology supports the process, but the human remains at the center.
