Mentoring-Programm

Neste Steg Program Overview
The Neste Steg Program offers individual follow-up from a personal mentor for one year after participation. Mentors, who have extensive experience from working life, act as sparring partners and door-openers in the process of taking the next career step.
Role of the Mentor
The mentor's role is to:
- Ask good questions
- Help the mentee reflect on their path forward
- Offer unique knowledge and relevant experience
- Provide a network that stimulates learning and development
This is achieved through:
- Active listening
- Feedback
- Sharing from their own life and work
As a result, the mentee gains:
- New insights
- Different perspectives
- Innovative ideas
Important Notes
It is important to note that the mentor is not responsible for finding the mentee a job or providing ready-made solutions. Instead, the mentor facilitates conditions for the mentee to discover their own path.
Opportunities for Mentors
As a mentor in Neste Steg, you have a unique opportunity to:
- Make a difference for a top athlete or a defense employee
- Be a sparring partner in their transition process
Mentors are also encouraged to:
- Open their networks to mentees
- Assist mentees who may lack a large network outside their previous "bubble"
Networking and Experience Exchange
Additionally, Neste Steg mentors gain access to a unique network of other mentors, representing a wide range of Norwegian working life from companies such as:

- Sopra Steria
- Equinor
- DNB
- And more
Mentor forums are also organized for experience exchange and networking, facilitating valuable interactions with both previous and new mentors.
