Mentorship for Success – GRASP Milano
The Mentorship for Success program is an initiative by the Global Romanian Society of Young Professionals (GRASP Milano), designed to support young Romanians with potential, both from Romania and Italy. The primary objective is to help them develop a clear vision for success, increase self-confidence, and channel their energies towards activities with a higher chance of success.
The program focuses on:
- Accelerating the process of introspection and self-knowledge.
- Developing young people's ability to independently identify solutions.
- Directing their own learning.
History and Methodology
The first edition of the program took place in 2020, involving 14 pairs of professionals and students. Since then, over 100 students from various Romanian cities (Buzău, Brașov, Făgăraș, Oradea, Comănești) and from Italy have participated. In 2022, the program expanded to include mentorship for Romanian students studying in Italy.
The program is free and targets:
- Romanian high school students aged 16-17.
- Romanian students in Italy.
It is conducted online, typically from January to May, and includes:
- A minimum of 8 individual online mentorship sessions with an assigned mentor.
- A series of online training sessions on personal and professional development topics.
Mentorship sessions are online discussions covering subjects such as:
- The student's aspirations and passions.
- University selection (in Romania or abroad).
- Building a successful career.
Impact
Through the transfer of knowledge and experiences, the program creates an essential connection between professionals and students, offering them an excellent opportunity to develop a confident attitude towards their professional future. This initiative contributes to the formation of a new generation of young Romanians prepared to face global challenges and reach their full potential.
Enrollment
Enrollments for the student group in the sixth edition of the mentorship program are currently open. High school students in the 10th or 11th grade from Romania or Italy are eligible to apply to be part of the mentee team. Organizational Background
GRASP – Global Romanian Society of Young Professionals was founded in 2008 as a network of young Romanian professionals aiming to engage and collaborate on projects focused on the modernization and development of Romania. GRASP Milano was established in May 2019 to form a network of young Romanian professionals and students who wish to share their experiences and knowledge with other Romanians. The "Mentorship for Success" program is one of the projects proposed to the Romanian community in Milan.
