Objective and Target Audience

The European Youth Village Mentoring Program is designed for young people aged between 16 and 30, coming from rural areas. Participants can be part of existing initiative groups or wish to form a new group to apply for the title of “European Youth Village.” Through this program, young individuals interested in applying for the title of European Youth Village 2025 for their community will receive support from members of the Alumni Network of European Youth Villages (RE-SET). This specific focus on rural youth addresses an acute need for local development and encourages civic participation in often underrepresented areas.

Benefits for Candidates

The program offers a range of concrete benefits for young candidates, essential in the complex process of application and implementation:

  • Access to previous experiences: Candidates will benefit from the experiences of young people from municipalities that have already implemented the program, covering both the selection period and actual implementation. This component is crucial for avoiding common mistakes and accelerating the learning process.
  • Support in consultations: Assistance in conducting consultations with young people from the local community to identify needs, issues, and challenges that can be addressed in an application for the title of European Youth Village. A deep understanding of the local context is fundamental to the initiative's success.
  • Community mobilization assistance: Help in mobilizing the community and creating/developing the initiative group for the title application. The success of such a program largely depends on the cohesion and active involvement of the community.
  • Consultation on local decision-makers: Guidance on approaching local decision-makers and improving communication with them. Effective collaboration with local authorities is vital for the sustainable implementation of projects.
  • Guidance throughout the application process: The complexity of the application process requires constant and specialized guidance.

Registration Conditions and Funding

Enrollment in the mentoring program is conditioned by participation in the Rural Youth Connect Seminar. More details about this seminar are available on the dedicated page. The registration form for the Rural Youth Connect seminar also offers the option to enroll in the mentoring program. Priority in selection for Rural Youth Connect will be given to young people who also register for the mentoring program. This condition ensures a level of commitment and prior preparation from participants.

The mentoring program for young people aspiring to apply for the title of European Youth Village 2025 and the Rural Youth Connect 3.0 seminar are organized as part of the project “Power #Together – Youth and European Youth Villages,” a participation project funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ program. Implementation is carried out by the Active Development Association, in collaboration with Go Free – Association for Supporting Civil Society, Ring the Changes Association, the Dorneni Youth Organization, and the Hălăucești Initiative Group – European Youth Village 2022-2023, under the umbrella of the European Youth Village program.
