The Mentoring Program for Women in STEM at HTWK Leipzig is part of an innovative collaborative project aimed at increasing study success at Saxon Universities of Applied Sciences (HAW) and counteracting the anticipated shortage of skilled workers in the Saxon labor market.
The program aims to:

- Specifically promote the individual study and STEM careers of women and non-binary individuals
Target Group
The target group includes women* (including individuals who identify as female or non-binary) in Bachelor's degree programs in STEM subjects at HTWK Leipzig. This program explicitly targets this group because:
- Women and non-binary individuals are significantly underrepresented in STEM fields.
- Their experiences in these subjects are influenced by factors such as socialization, discrimination, lack of role models, and work-life balance.
Program Components
The program consists of several components:
- Mentoring in Tandem: Offers an informal exchange of knowledge and experience between a mentee and a mentor. Duration: One semester (Winter Semester).

Participation and Benefits
Participation in the mentoring program and all its events is free of charge. Registration is binding, even for individual events, as external experts are engaged for workshops.
