MCI Mentoring Program Overview

The MCI Mentoring Program at MCI Innsbruck aims to connect MCI alumni with students to provide guidance and orientation for their professional career paths. The program's primary goal is to facilitate informal exchanges between experienced professionals (mentors) and students (mentees) to help students gain authentic insights into the world of work, accelerate personal development, receive honest feedback, and discuss future career questions.

Target Audience

The target audience for mentors includes:

  • MCI graduates with at least 3-5 years of professional experience
  • Professionals from various industries
  • Volunteers who are willing to share their time

For mentees, it includes:

  • Students from all full-time MCI programs
  • Those in their last year of studies

Program Structure

The program is an optional development opportunity for students. The process is structured as follows:

  • Building a pool of mentors
  • Informing students in spring
  • Matching in July/August (mentees choose a mentor from a pool)
  • Initial contact by mentee in September
  • Official start on October 1st

Mentoring Phase

The mentoring phase lasts 9 months (October to June), with at least six recommended meetings (in-person, emails, Skype, phone). The mentee is responsible for:

  • Organizing meetings
  • Defining topics

The MCI Student & Career Center provides online support with stimulus questions.
