Mentoring Programs at TU Dresden

TU Dresden offers a wide range of mentoring and buddy programs aimed at supporting students from the beginning of their studies to their career entry. These programs are designed to address individual needs and help participants successfully navigate their studies and achieve their career goals.

Prominent Programs Include:

  • Rock your Life: Targets pupils with special challenges, accompanied by students from all disciplines on their path to professional life.
  • 1:1 Medic Mentoring: For students of the Human Medicine model degree program, to gain insights into career development opportunities for doctors.
  • Mentoring of the Faculty of Chemistry/Food Chemistry: Aims at first-semester students in Chemistry/Food Chemistry, mentored by higher-semester students.
  • Mentoring at the Institute for Sociology - studISmentor: For first-semester Bachelor's and Master's students in Sociology, mentored by experienced students.
  • Mentoring Program of the Faculty of Mathematics: For first-semester students of Mathematics, Business Mathematics, and teaching degree programs with Mathematics, supervised by professors and student mentors.
  • International Tutoring Program of the International Office: For international students of all disciplines before or in their first semester, supervised by tutors per faculty.
  • Study Bridge - Mentoring for Pupils: Connects high school students from grade 10 onwards with TU Dresden students to provide insights into degree programs.
  • Mentoring for Female Early Career Researchers and Students (MINT): For female STEM students and early career researchers in DFG-coordinated research areas, supports network building and career reflection.
  • Arbeiterkind Dresden: For prospective students and students who are the first in their family to study, mentoring by students from all departments.

These programs not only promote academic and organizational orientation but also personal development and networking. The duration varies, often spanning one semester or an academic year.
