Econa's Mentoring Program

Econa's mentoring program is a popular nationwide offering for the association's members, designed to support career development. The program allows members to participate either as a mentor, to share experiences and guidance, or as a mentee, to receive support.

Key Advantages

A key advantage of Econa's program, compared to internal company programs, is the unique external perspective it offers. The program spans a fixed period of 12 months, with regular meetings agreed upon between the mentor and mentee. Flexibility is allowed in:

  • Meeting frequency (e.g., monthly)
  • Meeting format (physical, digital, or a combination)

Application Process

The application process is straightforward, with both mentee and mentor completing an electronic form that includes:

  • Career goals
  • Expectations for the mentoring relationship
  • Contributions as a mentor
  • Professional background and personality

An updated CV must also be attached to help Econa's program manager find the right match, based on professional interests and personal chemistry. After matching, a kick-off meeting is arranged to set the framework for the collaboration.

Program Evaluation

At the program's end, the process is evaluated to ensure goal achievement and program improvement. For mentors, professional development is offered through Econa's mentor forum, where they can:

  • Exchange experiences with other mentors
  • Participate in discussions

This forum, along with literature and tools, strengthens the mentors' role.

Eligibility and Costs

To participate as a mentee, one must:

  • Be an Econa member
  • Have completed a master's degree
  • Be employed, with at least two years of full-time experience after studies

Motivation and willingness to invest effort in the program are crucial. The program is free beyond the membership fee, but travel costs for meetings/gatherings are covered by the mentee. Mentors do not need prior experience but must be motivated and willing to share experiences and perspectives.
